Hire Off-Duty Officers.
Businesses, event organizers, and community groups can request off-duty officers for security, traffic control, and event coverage. Requests are coordinated through the department at 704-528-7600.
How it works
Requesting secondary employment.
- Call the department at 704-528-7600 to discuss dates, hours, and the type of coverage needed.
- Complete a secondary-employment request, including event details, location, and point of contact.
- Chief's office reviews and assigns available officers.
- Requesting organization pays the established hourly rate directly to the assigned officer(s).
Off-duty officers work in full uniform and remain sworn while on assignment. Requests should be submitted with as much notice as possible, especially for large events.
